Emily Wilczek

Emily Wilczek is an artist and lecturer with a specialist interest in the politics and aesthetics of exhibiting experimental moving image and sound. She has taught on a variety of art, design and media degrees at Leeds College of Art and the University of Lincoln where she is currently Senior Lecturer in Media Production. Recent work includes the production of a DVD Snobs & Clowns: Northamptonshire on Film 1932-1989 for the Media Archive of Central England. She studied Fine Art at the Hull School of Art (2001), MA Cultural Studies and Critical Theory (2004), and MRes Art History (2010) both University of Nottingham. Overarching threads of interest that run through her work include DIY culture, the reinvigoration of the disused, and dialogical art. An advocate of amateur practices and grass-roots organisations she is one half of Annexinema.
